They create a clean, modern look without the visual bulk of surface-mounted fixtures. But before you decide on a layout, you need to know what the installation actually costs. Here’s a straightforward breakdown of pot light installation pricing in Ontario.
Pot light installation by a certified and insured licensed electrical contractor in Ontario starts at $50 per pot light. The final cost per unit depends on the quality, size, and style of the fixtures you choose, as well as the complexity of the installation — including ceiling type, attic access, and the number of lights being installed.
In Ontario, all electrical work including pot light installation must be performed by a licensed electrical contractor. Only a licensed contractor can legally pull the required ESA permit and arrange the inspection that follows.
Pot lights vary significantly in price depending on the brand, quality, and features. Basic LED recessed lights suitable for standard ceiling heights cost less than premium dimmable, wet-rated, or IC-rated (insulation contact rated) fixtures.
