This is often a mounting issue, but if the electrical box behind is damaged or the drywall opening has grown, the fix can involve securing the box, adding an outlet box repair bracket, or in some cases replacing the box entirely. This should be addressed by a licensed electrician, since it involves working near live wiring.
This is a sign the outlet\’s internal contacts have worn out from repeated use and no longer grip prongs firmly. This creates real risk, since loose contact can lead to arcing and heating over time. The proper fix is replacing the outlet with a new one, ideally a quality replacement from manufacturers like Leviton or Legrand.
