A single GFCI outlet often protects several outlets downstream on the same circuit. If several outlets stopped working at once, especially in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, or outdoor areas, check for a GFCI outlet in the same room or nearby that has tripped. Pressing its reset button often restores power to all of the affected outlets at once.
If resetting GFCIs and checking breakers does not restore power, or if any outlets appear damaged or warm, call a licensed electrician. Do not open outlets yourself to inspect.
