• Mini-split (ductless) ‐ 500–2,500 watts running; lower startup surges due to inverter-driven compressors

What Generator Size Do You Need for a Window AC?

A generator rated at 3,000 to 4,000 watts can typically run a window AC with essential loads. Central AC is generally not practical on a portable generator due to startup surge requirements.
